This was a powerful telling of the Easter story as seen through the eyes of Christ. One can only imagine what atrocities He faced but you did an excellent job of visualizing it through His eyes. Thanks for sharing this message.

It was nice to hear how you saw my attempt of stepping into Jesus's shoes though I cannot think of anyone else being able to, and for that I am eternally thankful.

Great spiritual tribute to the King. Especially at Easter time. I know my church fills at Easter and Christmas. I find myself wondering where those people are at the rest of the year.

Great read and use of the language, Tom

I think this was beautiful. I especially loved that you wrote it through Christ's perspective. I've not seen that done yet. First person put the reader there with him in the garden wen he begged for mercy. We felt the nails as they put him to the cross. Beautiful and poignant. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

Great possible inner dialogue of what Christ thought about what happened at the events surrounding his crucifixion and resurrection.

Some suggestions for your consideration:

After millenniums (the plural is millennia)

hearts darkened in confusion as if I was a threat (subjunctive tense: as if I were)

caused even I to ask for mercy (me. Think "caused me to ask)

Julie

Millennia vs millenniums, which of these two words is the proper term to use? The answer is both, but it depends on the context. Millennia refers to a period of one thousand years, while millenniums mean a group or collection of one thousand years... so I'll leave it as is for how long was Christ preparing for what He did?

    Hey Tom,
Just wanted to clarify what I was saying.

The 'Even I " should be 'even me'. I wasn't questioning the reason you had it in the sentence. If you simplify the sentence down, it's easier to see:

a spiritual darkness descended that caused I/me to ask for mercy.

    Re: millenia

    Singular- millennium (1000 years)
Plural-millennia (or millenniums is ok, just less common)

Whatever you choose is fine. I just felt rereading my message, I hadn't been very clear.
Have a great evening! Julie :-)

I understand, but can also see how different views can be. No ill intent intended. (It is a phrase I coined to excuse myself when I make a comment or respond.)

Your poem does a wonderful job reflecting on the perspective of Jesus Christ on his mission. You show us the sacrifice that He made. I love how you used dialogue to share this. It's works and is very creative. Well written and very touching. Great job.

I appreciate your remark, and now I'll go tee it up, saving my repentance for Suday. j.k.'g
