This is the perfect Ekphrastic verse for your chosen artwork. I can almost feel the dampness from the rain on the empty boardwalk. Hot tea or chowder sounds perfect as I sit on the bench overlooking the water.

To think there was a time when I could stand on the beach and not be able to see anything past 150 feet for the haze. And then, all these years later you can see the island on a clear day. We have made progress in at least that one area. Thanks for sharing.

Heck, I remember a time when our lungs burned and every Friday at 10am we ducked under our desks for nuclear war drills. You could buy a bomb shelter as if it was used car.

This is a sweet poem really it's not overwhelming with lots of love gushing everywhere nor is it underwhelming either it's the perfect blend and your final line in this form seals the deal where it says "of course, I'll wait."
Good work and I find submission I wish you best of luck I see no issues with grammar sentence structure aesthetic subject matter great submission I hope your evening is great too!

This is a sweet poem really it's not overwhelming with lots of love gushing everywhere nor is it underwhelming either it's the perfect blend and your final line in this form seals the deal where it says "of course, I'll wait."

Hi Roy. I changed the font to default to make it easier to read. Thanks for the tip. Catalina is a Exphrastic work that some may not understand.

Exphrastic structure is new to me. I enjoyed the simplicity of the verse and the images it evoked. It had such a rainy day, gentle rhythm to it.
I had a really tough time with the font.
