Victor, This is a very interesting and well written poem you have penned. I do hope you get you a dog. They are great companions. We have a granddog named Gus. He's out son's Golden Retriever. He is my buddy! My husband and I have cats and we love and adore them too! I hope you have a very blessed and Merry Christmas my friend! Teri

What a lovely sentiment and so eloquently written and shared with us.. your readers. Great job on setting the scene with the orange couch and other descriptive phrases. I would mention that the last word in this verse is misspelled. I loved reading it.

Loved the fragmented and fractured style of the language, it really speaks to the fragmented experience of our lives nowadays. The voice is honest and personal and full of emotion here, it's right from the heart, talking about loneliness and the need for companionship. The images are poignant, all images of empty rooms and silence. This one line stuck out: We are all so bereft of touch. That really says it all. estory

Beautiful. I hope you have found a dog or will soon find one, and together you can experience unconditional love and healing. There is nothing to compare with the gentle love annd loyalty of dogs. Very moving poem, and photo.

Hello
I truly hope you have made this a reality. You're never really alone when you have such a faithful companion. Troubles aren't as deep and love is absolutely there for the taking without any misunderstandings. Not to mention they'll always be there anytime day or night for comfort and unconditional faithfulness. They'll always need a bit of guidance given with a gentle, but firm hand. Someone to look up to. Great work with this one. Merry Christmas to you.

Hi Doug
This shows a person's need for a companion. A dog can fulfill that need well. I think being together will cause healing for both you and the dog. The owner cures the dogs injuries and the dog the owner's loneliness.
Keep writing and stay healthy
In the last line againe should be again
Happy Holidays.

Our special pet friends come to hold a very important place in our lives. They love and trust us unconditionally. I enjoyed reading this poetic tale about finding your beautiful wounded dog and giving him a home. :-)

A dog gives unconditional love and is a great comfort when alone. They are finding that taking pets to nursing homes is very therapeutic, comforting and rewarding to the lonely.

Well done.
Blessings

I was just talking about the bond that can develop with a dog when we're feeling lonely or depressed. Certain breeds can read the signs so well. Your lovely little free verse flowed along in its stream of consciousness, lifting at the end with your thoughts of feeling free 'again' (needing correction - without the 'e'). Thanks so much for sharing! Enjoy that dog. Take care and Merry Christmas! Debbie
