You have done an excellent job with the writing prompt. Yes, women suffer a lot at the hands of men, as well as other women. I recall a girl in high school who was poor and wore shabby clothes. A lot of the girls treated her like a leper. I tried to befriend her, but she trusted no one and would not even converse with me. I felt so bad for her but didn't know what to do. The girl dropped out as soon as she turned sixteen. So, at times, a woman is treated unfairly by her own sex. Best of luck in the contest.

The section about the jobs you have had is enlightening when you show the disparity between what men were making and what women made. I think those kinds of examples would show up everywhere if a survey were taken and every woman was allowed to respond. The suppression of women is something that shouldn't be tolerated, and maybe one day that will get better. Some women are doing their best to do that, and that is a start.
I like the closing paragraphs of your presentation because you show that there is a different side to the issue, but as you mentioned, those stories don't make the news as often as they should.
I agree with your concluding statement. I am happy to be what I am, as well. You gave us a lot to think about and your ideas are well thought out. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I echo your sentiments. I'm so grateful to have been born in Australia where women, by and large, are treated with respect and live freely. I earn my own living and can make my own choices. I'm mindful that so many women around the world do not have that luxury. Good luck for the contest.

It's appalling, but not surprising to hear how much predatory activity is being exposed in Hollywood. I think it is probably only the tip f the iceburg. One of my favorite astrologers predicted this is a time when things hidden in the dark will come into the light. I think transgender man to woman are getting their eyes opened as they are being treated as a woman. A good topic.

I do agree that some men are intimidated by women and try to suppress their views and think they are superior. My daughters are no chattel to any man, and I've always supported them to speak their minds and to fight for what they are passionate about.

I worked for the government. Salaries were regulated by established schedules. Anyone doing a particular job got the same pay. However, prior to the 1990s, men were promoted to higher level jobs that women were not selected for, leaving women to receive lower salaries.
I am glad to read the thoughts of a woman who is bold and proud of being herself. Best wishes in the contest.

You're absolutely right, but I think at least in most western countries, that's not the case, even when my wife started work in the early sixties there were.glaring discrepancies, but that's economically, it's worst in laces like Afghanistan,well done, great post. Blessings Roy
