Wow! That's all I dare say. Well, except that you've found a way to keep Miranda in the readers' hearts a while longer WITHOUT the storyline sagging. Now I'm not going to be satisfied until Miranda's satisfied that Dougie is either alive or dead. Waylon knows something is happening ....
Gretchen, I've mentioned it before, but why don't you post your stories (especially now that you have two of them up) closer to the beginning of the week. Really, I rarely have a sixer in my holster past mid-week. And I SO MUCH want to give one to this chapter. It's one of your best!

It's not looking good for Dougie. Can't think why Missy wants to talk with Miranda but perhaps next chapter. Missy is a piece of work and unpredictable, so I hope Miranda is protected if she goes to the jail to talk with her. Another well-written chapter.

Miranda is an interesting character with a real love for the child she seems to have inherited. This doesn't look like a book submission, but I seem to have read part of this earlier. Could you put some kind of number on this, so I know if I'm missing something.

Well you have to get the transportation and that is taking the reader along with the writer very good job! I'm curious, intrigued and waiting for the next installment!
I was engaged start to finish. For be if a poem or story does not grab me right away then I get bored and then I put it down and get something else. Not the case with yours.
