This all sounds so terrible. My heart goes out to you. One way of putting trouble and sorrow to one side is to bury yourself in your work. I urge you not to abandon the fisherman at this stage. Even if you are not really satisfied with the result, I urge you to write - throw yourself at and bury yourself in it. You can always rewrite it later. But you should find the business of doing it therapeutic.

I think this was a very honest composition. I think it did a good job describing the end result of the investigation. It seems that death is never easy, and in the case of dementia or mental illness, it often seems as if some people rush to meet it unknowingly. These events serve to remind the reader and others that life can end in so many ways, and we don't have control over others' free will or ingenuity. Sympathy to you and yours.

I went back and reread the earlier posts. I know all of you would have rather this turned out differently. It's hard to take care of aging family members. In one way they are like children, but in another, they really are still adults, so you can't just make them mind.

I went back and reread the earlier posts. I know all of you would have rather this turned out differently. It's hard to take care of aging family members. In one way they are like children, but in another, they really are still adults, so you can't just make them mind.

God, that was a chilling end, Ulla. It's too bad you had to be on the receiving end of the news. You've done the right thing not to hide from it, though, and being willing to face its ultimite truths. By working through the horror and grief of it, you'll be a better and more compassionate person. I will patiently wait until you are ready to post the next Fisherman story.
By the way, that is a lovely terrace. Do you enjoy mothering all those beautiful plants? Someone certainly has.

I know, Jay. We're all rather subdued after this last revelation. It's a bit hard to take in. I've spoken to my brother and sister-in-law a few times during the weekend and it's pretty clear how affected they are.

Yes, my plants are my joy and pride. I'm on my own so I'm the one looking after them, lol. Down the way, I have more plants and also a piece of land. I love working it all. Thanks a lot for mentioning it. Ulla:)))

Oh, how upsetting! Even the final goodbye brings no closure. I am sorry to hear about the physical state of Claire. Did she stop eating? Dementia patients lose touch with their sense of hunger and sense of time. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Helen. No, I'm afraid she got eaten by animals as she abandoned her car and wandered into dense wood. This is Florida and very unforgiving at this time of the year. Ulla:)))

We don't think so but won't know until we see the final result. The Fisherman will be back on Sunday. I just couldn't concentrate on it. Ulla:)))
