So many people have lost loved ones during this pandemic. In our country, it is the unvaccinated who ended up in hospitals and dying. It's good that you focus on the happy afterlife as new life is given by God beyond our earthly life. Best wishes in the contest!

This poem, "God on Deen," has a troubling title that implies we are hearing what God has to say about Deen, whose son prays for him after he dies from Corona virus. The poem not only tells us about the son's communication with God, but it also undertakes to make a political point about vaccination. This duet plays poorly in this recognized poem: I have to think that the poem is being recognized for the sad news it bears about a death, and its critical political attitude. The language of the poem is ordinary, and the miracle story has no novelty or distinctiveness. Simply putting death and an angel and a devoted child into a poem doesn't make it better than good, which is generous.

Excellent write. The evidence that an afterlife exists is far more overwhelming than the so-called evidence that it does not. "Journey of Souls" Dr. Michael Newton is an excellent book on the subject of reincarnation and the various circumstances associated with rebirth in Samsara. Good job.

Hi there,

I was wondering if the coronavirus needed to be mentioned in this post. It would have worked just as well without the contentiousness, but each to his own.

Best of luck to you

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. So many people are dying and some from the vaccination. It doesn't make sense, but I keep reminding myself God is in charge.

This poem touched my heart and portrayed the pain a child feels when they loose a parent. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing. Have a great week.

I like this.
I'm sorry Deen died, but he didn't die
forever, the soul is eternal.
Great entry, I like the way you've
written this,
blessings...
