Nicely written and well rhymed. It is a neat idea to keep moving a line at a different spot in the poem. I am afraid very little of my writing on this site heeds the advice against snark.

let Christ's grace measure be your mark <= *Grace measure* feels a bit awkward as prose, mainly because grace is a noun and not used as an adjective, except with altered spellings like graceful.

'tis not the flame that lights the spark <= nice line

So guard your mouth don't be a snark <= there are two clauses here, and they need to be either separated or joined correctly. You could say something like: guard your mouth from words of snark. Or you could use a semicolon, or in the context of this poem you could just use a comma.

There are a bunch of broken characters in the author notes, just FYI.

Thanks for the read!

thank you, Roy, for this great poem. Our enemies are not our fellow men but spirits of darkness. Thankfully, we know that God's power is greater than any forces that can come against us. I like the verse:
"We are God's envoys on this Earth,
and by His wisdom let faith birth.
We fight against the powers of dark,
Let Christ's grace measure be your mark."

Another awesome write. Very well written. It has a nice flow and rhyme scheme. Great photo to compliment your words as well. Speak not against the powers that be,
and let your tongue be malice free. So guard your mouth don't be a snark we fight against the powers of dark.

Your picture is the way I feel when I try to make a difference in the world. My puny efforts get swept in a vortex and disappear. I try never, ever to snark against man nor circumstance, for I feel it jades my soul and we must speak with God in our minds. Another most excellent write, dear Prophet.

I agree that the fight we have should not be with each other - the powers that are attempting to control us are not made of flesh and blood, as clearly brought out at Ephesians 6:12-17. That is the source of all our problems. And we need to fight the fine fight for our faith. That is the only way to resist these dark forces to attain peace within ourselves and with each other.

Well expressed. In fact, not only should we not rage against the powers that be, we should be praying for them, knowing that they are God's appointments and will be used by Him to fulfil His greater purposes.

Choosing light words is like entering a dark room and turning on the light. Where does the darkness go? Remember, "Never a man spoke like this." My blessings to you.

Compelling and powerful--stunning flow and rhyme make for a superb piece. Brilliant imagery!

let faith berth--do you mean "birth"? (as in be born or give birth?)

This is a well thought out and we'll written poem. The first two lines are so true, we fight against the darkness brought by life not the people who bring it. I found the last para quite enlightening.

The picture was great, Roy. I really enjoyed your words because they actually made sense of the darkness and the evil that surrounds the darkness. Only our belief in Christ and His Father-God truly protects us. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings.
