As it is said that prayer and service to the less privileged is what every one of us needs because prayer empowers you while service humbles you to be a better child of God. I like your touching spiritual poem. Good luck!

Thank you. You've touched on God's richest blessings: prayer, in faith and hope, and service to the less fortunate. We serve an Almighty God. Bless you.

A lovely poem and well written one which I enjoyed it starts of for me quite sad with the loss of both parents when still young but ends nicely with a new heavenly Father to care for you.

Thank you for your review. Like you I am a walker. I've found over the years, to appreciate God's creation, all you have to do is walk through it. Take care.

Simply beautiful. Despite significant grief, and significant danger, He was watching over you as His loved child. This lovely poem of faith and trust deserves to do well - sending best wishes.

This one made me cry--and smile. Your poem is lovely, reverent, moving, and skillfully composed. It conveys a powerful message about the unique
ability of the Lord to fill the deep voids in our lives.

Your review is deeply moving and leaves me at a bit of a loss of how to respond. Words don't seem sufficient to convey my gratitude. More importantly, you understand the uniqueness of our Lord and how He is always with us especially in our darkest hour. I'm humbly grateful for your review.

So profound. So tragic and yet triumphant in faith! We cannot understand why we suffer the losses we do. Far too many lose one parent--or both--far too soon! The Heavenly Father, however, is always present. In time we come to understand this. I am joyous for you that you can state with faith that: "I am my Father's Child."

You have an amazing grasp of the meaning of my poem. God doesn't always share his plans with us, but, as you say, in time even the dark days can become blessings. Thank you so much for your generous and beautiful review.

This is really good. I hope it is not a true story (except for the last two stanzas). You should find a good picture to go with this. Good luck in the contest.

    What an astute observation! I
couldn't find my original choice of pictures until now. I've replaced it and now ask if you could revisit the poem and give me your opinion. I highly value your opinion as an accomplished poet. Unfortunately, the story is true but I wanted my feeling of truly being blessed to be revealed through the poem. Thank you for taking time to review it.

This poem rhymes well. It is unfortunate that your parents left you when you are young. But we all are glad that you found your Heavenly Father who takes care of you.

Faith is important in one's life. We all need faith and hope to survive from day to day.

Thanks for sharing this one. Good luck to your contest.

I agree. Faith in a loving God who protects us from day to day is the most important and comforting thing we have in this life. Thank you for your review.

The most important thing to ever learn and remember. All humans are flawed, it is in our DNA, thanks to Adamic sin. Having said that, if our human parents are unable to care for us sufficiently dwe do have a heavenly father who cares and is capable of caring for us. We of course, must do our part by working hard to be worthy of his care and concern.

Great entry for this contest. I love your last verse:
"I have a heavenly Father
He's been there all the while
His mercy's real, His grace abounds
I am my Father's child."
Sometimes earthly fathers fail to live up to their responsibilities, but our Heavenly Father never fails.
