This is a terrific poem and I wish I had not used my six stars early this week as it deserves such a rating. It brought memories of my childhood Halloweens. Very nicely done.

nicely captures the spirit of Halloween. One of my favorite holidays. I read an interesting article today on the Celtic (Irish) background of Halloween which was based on the old Wiccan pagan holiday of Samhain but turned into all hollows eve by the catholic church.

I enjoyed reading your Halloween contest entry. It flowed beautify. I wonder how many of today's children this is a reality for:
They'll sit around a cozy fire
As some adult unveils
The scary ghosts and goblins
In those spooky fireside tales.
I'm betting very few as today's parents rarely interact or even know what their children are doing.

An excellent entry for this contest. It will get my vote, if I have a vote. The poem bring back a lot memories from long ago. We didn't keep costumes from year to year, because they were home made, but the rest flows great for me. Good Job.

This is really solid. The rhymes, cadence, progressive narrative flow and vocabulary all work nicely together. I don't see any corrections to be made. It almost reads like a classic Christmas poem, tapping into quintessential nostalgic elements but contemporary enough, eschewing candy apples for PS5s. Thanks for the fun read!

Hi Paul. To be honest, Halloween is very low key in Australia. I will get some this week for any small visitors we may have - usually very few. It's not big over here. But there are so many Halloween prompts from Fanstory! I have been amazed!
