This chapter begins with preparations for the trial of Tony Alfanzi, but it becomes evident that FBI protection of witness Analiese Irving may fail, as Eugene seems to have eliminated Agent Fred Samuels, one of her two guards before the trial. Meanwhile, the nascent friendliness between Agent Ken Washburn and "Ana" as he calls her (to her delight) may or may not become a dangerous distraction from his defense of her without Fred's help.
As usual, you include many interesting details throughout, successfully giving readers the impression of being there. Both the circumstances in each scene and the dialog remain plausible and realistic.
Suspense continues to grow, as this story clearly has more action ahead.
Superb, and aptly illustrated.

Beautiful descriptions of the Autumn season and trees! Good to hear that Sally is improving and will be well enough to testify. bad to hear of yet another murder, in this alligator country. It's not given in detail ... but the alligator wasn't the culprit.
Looking forward to the next chapter.

I found this chapter with loads of tasty food. And good news is, Sally Law has come out of her coma, and doing well."
I see some one likes Donny Cash and I see there a mention of

Sherrif Holt speaks to Mike Lembowsky their conversation is about a man floating in a creek, shot execution style, but mauled badly by alligators. It looks like Sally Law has come out of her coma and will testify. Prosecutor Roy Fitzgerald Owen(s) is gathering evidence and things are set in place. This is beautifully written Sally, great episode, blessings Roy

Hello Sal.
It seems like the bad guys are in cahoots with a big old Gator. agent Samuels should have picked a different route. Now he's become a victim of a murder. It started out looking like it was only the Gator that got him but they don't carry guns. There are more nefarious people in the area, and they are active. That complicates the matter.
There is one suggestion I have. You have a phrase "an Turkish agora cat." I believe the article "an" should be "a".

Thank you for the lovely review and generous star blast, dear Helen. The slag check is most helpful. I?m still foggy from my vaccine reaction. My son, Robert, who works for a vaccine company, said it?s from the spike proteins. I was in bed most of the week. I did manage to write this. A modern day miracle.
Sending you my best today, with love and blessings always,

You are a miracle, Sal! All of us are because of our Miracle-creating God. I'm sorry you had such a strong reaction - I had the Pfizer and hardly reacted at all. I'm guessing you must have a stronger immune system. 💖

First off, Sally, it's so wonderful of you to be asking for donations to those organizations that are helping the victims of the hurricane. We are a long way away from it, in Canada, but have watched it on TV. So sad.
Now for this chapter of your story. As usual, it is very well written, with great dialogue and imagery. It seems like Alfanzi will get his just rewards. But now there is another body, so I wonder if this is a new case, or a related one. I look forward to the continuation.

By reading your setting, I learned something new. I did not know the leaves turned there too. "turning the maple trees a brilliant red. " Our Maple trees are one of the reasons tourists flock to Vermont to see our colorful foliage. The whole image of the setting is lovely. In all that quiet beauty, there is sensory animation and business. You create a scene from a movie with this setting. I will now read your story...lol As usual, your story does not disappoint. There's more great imagery. I especially like the description of the gator. I felt like I was sitting there gazing at it.
