Thanks for taking the time and energy to put on a computer the words of encouragement needed by all writers and especially the newbies. Your narrative is like a pep talk that strikes at the core of a thirsty audience. The very best writers still need encouragement. Today you lit a torch and held it high for a struggling creative to see their way to a brighter tomorrow through writing.

One can never be an orator, if one has nothing to say, nor can one be a writer if there wasn't a seed in your heart, fiction or not it doesn't matter, without a theme and a pathway to that end, it won't happen. But a few things are essential and that's having a command of metaphor, imagery and imagination, and a propensity to understand how language works. Writing something is not that hard, developing the courage to put it out there for the critical review of someone not in your family or social circle is quite another matter. In order to be halfway successful, you must never fall in love with anything that you have written. If at all possible, have someone read it aloud so that you can hear how it sounds being read by someone other than you. This is an excellent way to catch missing words and other things easy to overlook while writing. You make some excellent points that I am in full agreement with.
