short inspirational poem reminding us to be here now and now worry about the past - which is fading into our memories, or the future which may or may not come as the message inspired me to write my own 8 6 poem
"Be here right now they always say
Let the past be the past"

Jake, yes, this a perfect example of how to be in the present moment, best of luck!
Comment from Gloria ....
Author this is a fine entry into the contest. Our breathing truly does affect our overall sense of well being or otherwise, and staying in the moment, while incredibly difficult to do, does keep one off that totally destructive rumination.
This is a fine entry into the contest and I wish you great luck with the voters. :)

I love this short little poem. It says so much and quite beautifully too. Live in the moment and then you can breathe freely. Yes, that meets the requirement quite nicely. I wish you much success in this contest. I see no way to improve on this. MM

'Present Moment Living', is short succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. Good luck with the contest! My fingers are crossed for you.

-Very nice artwork
and presentation.
-Good syllable count
and I like the formatting.
-A positive message
about being in the
"present moment."
-Hopefully it will be a
more normal one sooner
than later.
-Good luck in the contest.

Dear Mystery Poet,
I don't know about the breathing-easily part but it sure is a good way to center yourself so that you are reminded to appreciate each moment that comes your way instead of taking things for granted. Thanks and good luck!

So true. What a simple message in your poem. Why is it hard to stay in the present moment? Focusing on breathing is given as the method to stay in the present. Breathing freely as you say.
Good writing.
