Such a romantic story, and always the storm brings some kinds of romantic situation cover by the snow. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest. You got my vote.

A very interesting and enjoyable story which you have written well. The intersection of the two storms (inner and outer) is well done. I hope your entry does well in the contest.

What an elegant time it was with rules to courtship! You did a great job creating this story around a storm and the storm is not the main focus but played its part, even adding symbolically to the emotional state of Lady Elma. Hope you do well in the contest!

This was a pleasant story to read.

There were very few intricacies, however, and the plot of the "hidden" child/daughter, that presumably so scandalised the father, has been utilised many times before. There were a number of cliched phrases and the occasional attempt to put in a bit of "Olde English" didn't always come off.

Having said that, it was an enjoyable story and nicely written and had atmosphere with the descriptions of the snow/storm.

The story was very interesting. I could see this turning into a much larger story or book if you continued writing about the characters. After reading this, I felt like looking back over the Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy.

I did notice in your writing that there were some spaces between your quotations marks and the beginning word within the quotes as well as some spots where the sentence had ended, but you did not start a new quote with a capital letter. Those were my only observations of errors in the story, but overall I was intrigued to see what came next in the inn when Lady Elma had seen Lord Henry with the daughter.

Dear Mystery Author I am delighted by the story you penned so wonderfully.
Your version of The Storm was wonderfully crafted-.
A young woman's heart broken because of a mysterious breaking off of some serious courting...
A chance snowstorm...a meant to be meeting in an inn...and a rekindling of romance.
I would say dear writer that you created a perfect storm of circumstances ..that resulted in a wonderful story.

I enjoyed this Victorian era story. It is well written with a happy ending and I like happy endings. Just a couple of suggestions: check your punctuation in a couple of places . Example: "Lady Elma," he continued, "you ... You missed the quotation mark. Maybe you could put a space between paragraphs as it would be easier to read with a little white space. Anyway, this is very nicely done and your illustration pairs perfectly.

This is nicely written in the classic tradition of Victorian romance. You are especially adept at SETTING THE SCENE, especially describing Lady Elma in her coach of the snowy road as the storm approaches. The courtly manner of both she and Lord Henry arealso well described. Rod
