Hi Brooke :) this is a message I never tire of delivering to my kids. Loved your delivery! Nice alliteration and meter, would make a cool slogan for motivating children. Love the photo of your little climber :) kindest regards as always, Debra :)

I love how you incorporate life truths into your clever rhymes. This is adorable... and obviously nothing is going to hold that young man back from success. Who needs Superman? Though short, this poem is packed with goodies. I really enjoyed it.

When I was a kid, I climbed everything in site, Brooke - and I had a few falls and hospital stitch-ups for my trouble, after one fall out of a tree and another from the top of a slide - but it didn't deter me.
Nowadays, I get dizzy if I stand on a matchstick. :-)
Fun write and picture to infer 'one step at a time to success and achievement.
Best wishes, Ray xx

There's that cutie pie again. Are you going to compile all these poems about him along with the photos in a book to present to him someday? Would be a lovely HS graduation gift or wedding gift. Some day, he can read them all to his children. Good message in this one for him and all the readers---hard work reaps rewards one rung at a time.

Yeah, I never did take much stock when it came to getting much needed help from others either, Superman or otherwise.
If you're gonna' do it, then you're on your own.

I don't think there are any more super heroes left today, Brooke.
My pleasure, as always.

The little monkey! Typical kid when it comes to energy. I notice how his face is losing his baby features and lengthening in that picture with the sucker. Your poem is so true Brooke. One day at a time, one step at a time nice and easy does it, always. Have a great day! Nancy

Please enlarge this and send this to the NEA!
Parents and educators alike will love this.
Can I please enlarge it and send it to the UFT( United Federation of Teachers in NYC?
They should make sure it goes to every single classroom.
Love it!!

We are often inspired to write by what we see and experience and this is to me definitely inspired by your grandson's climbing here. Love the message of the poem.

What a great message for us all, Brooke, and I enjoyed this wonderful poem very much. We want to reach our goals as fast as we can, forgetting one step at a time is always safer and more productive. Love your guy's cute little feet.
Smiles,
Karyn : )
