It is no wonder if a painting, a valuable one, sparks not only admiration but also curiosity. (I like the mention of off-center as it reminds me of my old job as editor). Still unanswered, you write your beautiful conclusion verse:
In the meantime
your painting
winks at me
and floods
in a sigh
beyond its frame...

blind poet - Chagall certainly uses the entire canvas with color and objects. I particularly liked the Circus painting (forget the name). I've seen this Mariee painting before, and after reading your poem, I have a new appreciate for it. Thanks.

Yes, he fills his canvas with stuff. Sort of a mystic painter. Thank you for appreciating the work that inspired me.
