You have such a child like spirit in you and I know it's just from the love of your children and grandchildren. I really admire you're writings. With all the complexities in the world.. Things I write about or others I know when I go to read you I will be quickly reminded of love and joy in the simplest things in life. Thank you.

Wonderful 8/6 quatrains in your usual strong meter and abcb rhyming. Excellent personification of the shadow. I like the question you pose "is there some place the shadow goes between the dusk and dawn?" This can be read with Sawyer or a child his age in mind but it also has meaning when read with my aging adult mind lol. A pleasure to read and review, as always.
all the best,
Rodger :)

Rodger, thanks so much, my friend :-) I try to speak to adults too since they're the ones reading children's poems to the children. LOL Brooke

I guess, it's a bit like looking in the mirror for a child, the image copies you! Must be exciting to discover. You have captured this childlike innocence in your poem. Lovely lines of flowing verse and rhyme. Cutest pic. Enjoyable as always. Faye

Sawyer's World is filled with adventure. A Million-Billion things to do. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Hi Brooke - This is just lovely. I think it's one of the best I have read of your. What a lovely idea to dance with your shadow. In your often used 8/6/8/6 this poem is a real treat and deserves a 6. I don't have any but I give a virtual. What a lovely picture. Kind regards Dorothy x

Brooke I am having real struggles getting my chapter posted. I battled with it all day. My $9.95 I bought would not let me GET so the money disappeared. This happened three times. I complained to Tom. Today he said it was fixed but it wasn't . I still do not have the points to promote my chapter. Has this ever happened to you?
-
One time I had trouble with getting the certificate I had bought acknowledged, but Tom fixed it right away, and that was a long time ago - I wish I understood computer glitches, but I'm a dummy when it comes to all things electronic and high tech
-
I have wasted so much money and just am so frustrated
And it still isn't fixed

Great poem, Brooke. I love watching a kid's reaction to seeing their shadow and it always reminds me of Peter Pan getting his shadow sewed on. Your verses are wonderful with all the poetry devices you use so well.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

What a delightful verse to accompany Sawyer and his shadow dance. It is one thing all children have in common when they first realize they have one. My shadow stays skinny and makes me look tall. A true friend for sure. A lovely and
enjoyable read. Smiles, Robin :)
