Oh, yeah, well enough for you of normal faces to say 'make a funny face'. But what about those of us born with funny faces? Sure it's fun, but how do you stop smiling? Those muscles get tired, you know? Looking funny is no easy business, believe me you! To make matters worse, when I try to make a funny face, everything goes kerfluey! Funny faces can't make funnier faces.

Oh, the poem. Brooke you also take the delightful route.
Always unexpected. Publish.

Peace, Lee

Oh, Lee, I am so so sorry for you and your kerfluey face. I appreciate your lovely review and promise that I would make a really concerted effort not to turn away if you ever made a funny face at me. :-) Brooke

Adorable Brooke, and they sure look like two peas in a pod. You have a beautiful family. A nice light hearted verse that bounces along on such a happy note.
Smiles to you and family. Robin :)

What can I say, Brooke, other than you've done it again! The pictures, first of all, are really hilarious. That child -- and his mom -- are both adorable.

You've made great use of alliteration in almost every line, and your rhyming is right on. My favorite line is:

When cakes fall flat and treats go splat

Very descriptive. Thank you for sharing yet another fine poem. Alana

Perfect picture to match. Very upbeat. Nice internal rhyming which just adds to the sound of this happy-go-lucky feel. Reading a poem like this is like watching good sit com of laughter. Well done! Les

this is so cute, brooke, sawyer and Miranda look so sweet together, she is a great mother who takes special time with him and he is so blessed for it. I enjoyed reading this one.

Hi...good advice...when the day is 'schlect'(bad, terrible in German) it is best to smile..certainly if I smile someone smiles back...and of course throwing a ball for my clown of a dog helps too. She has her own funny face. padumachitta

Do it with them Brooke. You will have a blast and look back and see how silly but yet a fun day with the kids. A moment to remember. Blessings to you all.

when your three, you can change your mood in a blink of an eye, yet older than that, it may take more then a smile to turn your world upside down. Good poem, loved it from a child's point of view.

TRULY NOTHING CAN MAKE BAD EVENTS SEEM LESS BAD THAN FUN, JOY & LAUGHTER AND A FUNNY FACE IS ONE WAY OF ELICITING THAT. THE IMAGERY SHOWS THAT. MOTHER AND CHILD RE HAVING A BIT OF FUN WHILE WAITING FOR DAD.IT WILL MAKE THE WAIT APPEAR SHORTER. I LIKE THE IMAGES CREATED BY THE WORDS: DREAMS ARE DASHED OR CAKES FALL FLAT.BOTH ARE UNPLEASANT SITUATIONS WHICH FUNNY FACES CAN CHANGE.KUDOS!LOVELY POEM.
