Great quatrain with a very true message. I read and viewed the wonderful image while thinking our life's journey begins with 'baby steps". How appropriate it is to be represented by a child's footprints. Rubylou

Hi. Too true. To be on a journey, we gotta start and those steps gotta keep going. I like the picutre:-)
My fav lines are the last two...they will keep rebounding in my mind for a while.

Hi Brooke,
Nicely put, as Confucius is purported to have said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Nothing is ever accomplished without taking that step.

Wow, I think this is my favorite poem by you thus far.
It has such a good meaning and makes perfect sense.
And the image you used with the adorable Sawyer is perfect.
Great job as always

I really like this one and I like the rhyme scheme too...it's a little different than you usual (not that I am implying you have no imagination...heavens no!) I especially like these two lines:
just like a single raindrop
that helped to build the sea...
I cannot imagine Miranda taking of photo of Sawyer that does not inspire you to write a beautiful poem.

Thank you for this inspirational message. I enjoy the way you use Sawyer in all of your artwork. This is a special tribute to a special little boy.

This is yet another interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. A step is not a journey, but as they say "A journey if a thousand miles begins with a single step." Thank you for reminding me of this and well done indeed.

As they, one step at a time. Interesting way to put it: "A step is not a journey, but still it is required. " a wonderful message, even for adults who lack patience. Wonderfully written! Les

Very nice grouping of quatrains. Whimsical with just a touch of the philosophising. Every journey does indeed begin with a single step. And the journey continues only if that first step is followed by another. Voicing is unique, a combination of the sage who knows and the explorer who is about it discover, and still it possess the lilt of child-like wonder. Another fine write. Touching and perfectly illustrated. Grasshopper know the master.
