Indeed this one is so true. And like a child, we should not fear the leap but take it in abandonment in full faith. Another excellent writing.

Steve, thank you so much :-) Brooke

Again, another bit of wisdom for Sawyer (and us) as we all make our way down life's path. The final line was a bit of a surprise and brought me a grin. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Such very good advice in so many instances. Sometimes, an easy path just doesn't present itself. You just have to go for it. Now, I've got to look up what an epigram is. How many forms of poetry are there? I used to think if I could do moon-june, tree-see, etc., that's all there was to it. Ha. Nice work, Brooke

an epigram is a very brief, pithy, witty statement, rarely longer than this one :-) Thanks so much, Gypsy :-) Brooke

My' leaping' days are over, Brooke, so I tend to take the bus instead, and that always takes the long way round. :-)
Very clever and well-written philosophy of 'devil may care' positivity.
Cheers, Ray xx

When life becomes too much of a fuss, get out of town - just take the bus :-) How's that? :-) Thanks so much, Ray. Brooke

LOL - you're getting better, Brookers. ;-) xx

Damn the path and leap- so true. I know when I go on woods walks, I always scorn the paths and blaze my own trail. Staying on the path is...boring. Much more wonder to be found in straying.

Thank you so much, Linda :-) The kid is just about the fussiest eater on the entire planet, but he loves his treats. I think if you tried to take his sucker he'd bite your finger off. LOL :-) Brooke

I'm pretty sure he's take his own mother's finger off if she tried to separate him from a sweet :-) Don't let his innocent smile fool you ;-)

She doles candy out bit by bit - when she potty trained him he got three M and M's for a poop in the potty LOL

Nice poem about that bouncing boy. The message we should draw from this is there is nothing too high for us to surmount. Symbolic message and good use of rhyme. Enjoyable read. faye

Great message with this epigram. Sometimes we can make mountains out of molehills as the saying goes. As you say we should damm the path and leap.

Or just bust on through. That's generally my M-O. LOL Awesome poem. So much can be taken out of such a simple thing, like a young boy leaping over a ring in gym class. :) Awesome poem - thanks for sharing!

Hi Brooke,
Great little poem here. Kind of like cutting the gordian Knot, isn't it? Sometimes it takes genius to find the most direct solution. Very nicely done--Ted
