It truly was a beautiful morning on that fateful day thirteen years ago, before all of that changed to a world of dark smoke and tragedy. You do such a wonderful job of capturing the contrast here. I really like, Brooke, how you personify both Autumn and Time. Your last stanza, in particular, is especially powerful. I'm glad I have a few sixes left this week.

Connie, I will always remember how perfect that morning was, the kind of perfect where people were commenting on it to each other in that brief time before the first plane hit. Thank you so very much, my generous friend :-) Brooke

It was a beautiful day 13 years ago on that fateful day. I was working in the PA Emergency Management Agency office at that time and the horror was repeated on our big screens for days. You have put words to feeling that describe that fateful day. Sorry I am out of sixes as this is worthy of that and more.

I think this is so deserving of a six star. The last one I have. You are so good at these poems and this form is beyond all that I care to create. You seem to just delve in and make the forms your own which I think is quite permissible by a professional bard.

I'm not even going to try to write a poetic review for this one. It was a very beautiful day the day so many lives were changed.
Very well done, Buck

You have captured the, oh too brief, magic that autumn
confers to the landscape quite beautifully. Fall in the
Adirondaks (and the Catskills, and the Appalachians, and
the Alleghenies, and the. . .) is breathtaking when fall
hits its stride. . .momentarily stopping the hands of
clock, before winter shakes all her golden jewels free.

But I couldn't help but think of how amazingly clear and blue
the sky was, over those shimmering towers and Pennsylvania's
fall bedecked fields on that fateful Nine Eleven morning (which
your author's note evoked)

Nicely done Brooke.

I live outside of Philly - we were having the same gorgeous weather that day that NYC was - it really was an exceptional day, one that people notice during the commute and comment to each other about when they arrive at work. That has always stuck in my mind, the way I watched the footage of the sky filling up with black smoke and thinking, but it was such a perfect day... Brooke

We don't enjoy the autumn you do, the vast majority of our trees don't decidue in Australia, so we don't see all the the bright colours of autumn, some say we only have two seasons, winter and summer! Beautiful poem, clever poem, all of nature wears a garment, it stores, protects, adorns, and for a brief time it advertise's dormancy, a renewal! Well done, Brooke, this is a beauty, nice abab rhyming, even rhythm, blessings, Roy.

This is such a lovely poem that tells the whole story of autumn. I usually focus on the extraordinary vitality of the colors, and slide around their story of demise. Robes of death, widow's frock, Time's passive heard are particularly poignant phrases. As always--Thank you! Caroline

Great observations for Autumnal changes. Garb of green drains to true colors that draw forth words of joy.
Very fine rhymes...lines than compliment the changing robes.
Would that our lives might produce brightness in latter years...

Nobody dares defy Time's word,
but there's that spell that steals our breath
when Autumn leaves Time's passive herd
to toss aside her robes of death.

Again and again Brooke, your doctrine written here is a rare beauty , with that amazing picture, every word means so much. You allow the reader to look read and think, and try to enjoy each and everyday. Beautiful new picture of Sawyer. Love him, bless you all. Love Terry xoxo
