I just love how you put your gifts together. A little complete package, with wrapping paper and ribbon. Maybe a bow.
And then I open it...and there is the greeting card. And it is not even my birthday. I wonder if Horatio is a Grandpa? Never mind when my grandies pop over.

Ah, yes, the best laid plans....what a delightful, fun, clever, entertaining, and precious poem. I love the name Horatio, perfect for this poem. Thanks so much for putting a giant smile on my face...you always do that with poems about Sawyer. Thanks so much for sharing this gem with us. I enjoyed it immensely.

Well done. The best laid plans of mice and men should by all means be flexible; and of Horatio better way, it isn't hard to guess what made the change, for love does have her ways. I enjoyed the read.

CSI Miami! I thought of where I heard of Horatio, other than that bloodthirsty swordsman of yore. That text looks awfully uneven for such a uniform syllable count.

Brooke;
Boy, she didn't catch that picture so perfectly, the nanny did of Sawyer and Chloe where she's giving him a little nip on the cheek.
Again so masterfully written and quite humorously understood. Your imagination is simply marvelous and your imagery was strikingly expressive and movingly descriptive
throughout.
Your tempo and meter were so finally written where your rhyming was neither forced nor labored and your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your poem.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may all your endeavors be good ones.
Alex

I liked your poetic whimsy; she looked like she was just licking chocolate off his face! LOL. Why Horatio? Is Sawyer always blowing his horn? The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. I think Chloe has the upper hand - she is bigger than Horatio! Well done Mrs Plumb.

Excellent! The best laid plans of mice and men (and Horatio)
often are side tracked, This is well expressed and the rhyme and rhythm are excellent.Great Job!
