You have delighted me totally with this
beautiful poem. In such few words, you
managed to touch a lot of my different
senses.
I can picture the grapes, smell and taste
them all at one time.
Thanks for sharing this beauty with all
of us. Marie

I liked this still life very much You could close your eyes and see the grapes on the plate. I could just reach out and eat one, but I preferred to leave them to be crushed into wine. A glass of cold sauvignon blanc hits the spot. Nice touch of alliteration with' white Wedgewood' and 'green / grapes'. Very enjoyable read. xxmouse

This is a wonderful piece telling the connection of the grape to the glass. Not easy to achieve with so few words, yet this is informative, elegant and quite delightful. Many blessings, Paul.

This tiny 5/7/5 poem is a classic.
Many poets on FanStory would have been tempted to include an appropriate illustration with their poetry. I take it from your author's notes you are seeking perfection - in grape, bone china and wine. And of course, the perfect picture is the one you have painted in our minds.
Good luck in the contest.

That's right, Ron. A poem doesn't need a picture to back it up, especially when it is a picture in itself.

This poem gives great visuals of richness. Their special colour on the white expensive plate is alluring. I'm not a great one for white wine, but I can see the bottle.
Well penned for such a short poem. Best wishes for the contest. luv jada

Thanks for seeing the bottle, but can you see the green grapes on that fine china plate?

What a lovely poem you have here. It is a perfect haiku, very delightful in its structure and vision. Loved your picture. I can see it as a winner, not sure if the contest still runs, have to check out the booths. A wonderful reading experience, thank you.

Very original 5-7-5, I love the simplicity and the colors you've used to present the poem really lend to it's whimsical feel. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

I suppose this is a Haiku with a measurement of 5/7/5. It conveys an image and feeling about nature--the picture of grapevines in acre-fields of the source of the fine wine, the Sauvignon Blanc. The image is great and the poem, I think, had satisfied the requirement of Haiku. Congratulations.
