I liked the way your poem came full circle to the "October morn. You took on a strong persona in this free verse and I admired your "avenue," "dream" and "test" metaphors.

I guess we may never know what we have left behind us for our family to learn by. All we can do is out best and hope what we do and say is what will rub off on them and pass it along to next generations. Very good poem. Keep them coming.

Hi GW,
This is such a melancholy poem but even so you have written it well. We will never know if we have done a good job or not until we take our final journey. We all make mistakes and some we can't do over no matter how hard we try. A fine poem with a powerful message....chey

I guess we will never know what will be said of us after we are gone. I am sure there will be regrets and things left undone. All we can do is live each day as if it is our last. Making sure everyone around us feels our love and caring.

The content and intention I recognise, but the rythm and the flow I am finding difficulty with. Rather like an epitaph and yet there is a much greater story within. I think it well worthy of a fiver for what I cannot see.

You've done a beautiful job here of expressing the reflections that one might have at the end of life. I like the part that says, "History will tell of great men who fell, but what of us that did follow?" It is something to which most of us can relate. I enjoy your poetry. Connie C
