Thank you for sharing this very thoughtful poem. Since I joined fanstory, I started to write my parents' adage, several of them in "Daddy Dearest" (that children were always precious in parent's eyes), in "My Mother's Story" (that we should appreciate and take care our own body) and in Mother (it was about writing). This way I feel I have carried over some of their advice to my children and grandchildren. This is truly a wonderful reminder. Thank you from my heart, GW.

deepwater,

Wonderful theme. The flow was nice. All arrangement is understandable. Very reflective, all thoughts are very well described, understandable and comprehensible.

I saw no SPAG and no typos. Everything looked in place.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

I really doubt it. What a great piece you have penned deep. I see that things like values and morals are few and far between among the kids of today, let alone tomorrow. Unwritten things seem to be dwindling to myths of a past. Great write. /Ron

Liked your pondering on:

ill this generation pass the secrets of our forefathers foreword
to be carried over to their sons?

Short, simple and to the point, my favorite type of write.

I do think the answer is, yes. But, I guess history will tell us.

I think this is a most profound question you ask in this poem. Indeed, I wonder what is being passed on to our posterity... honor or shame?

foreword = a preview found at the front of a book
forward = to move ahead

GW,

I like your short, but very deep and reflective
poem. I especially like your entry line. Your
poem encourages your readers to think a little
deeper.

I think your use of a question is very effective:

"will this generation pass the secrets of our forefathers foreword
to be carried over to their sons?"

I might personally capitalize the 'will' as it is a new
thought and sentence, and you also capitalized your first
sentence. Just my thoughts on that.

Very well done!
Linda

This is a very nice short poem whith a question. We need to reflect about that. It's not easy. It's very well written. I really enjoyed reading your poem.

I enjoyed this piece so much. It reminds me of the family who strives to teach the young the wisdom of the ones who went before. May we always be willing to teach our young ones the truth so they may live in peace and security.
