This is cool.

Lily, a very dear friend who was like a second mom to me, once said if she could do it over again, she would never send her kids to Catholic school.

Lily was a devout Catholic, but said the nuns were really mean. Especially to Oscar, her oldest son.

Evie, Terry, and Michael also had their issues, so the nuns were not selective.

Great artwork as usual.

Ah, Dean! A true nunaphobe! When I saw the picture (and where do you find them, by the way?) I was transported back to my visit to Italy and the small and large churches. Tucked in the shadows of the always cold and (it felt) damp churches, there were always glass covered caskets, each containing the embalmed remains of that church's favored mother superior or parish priest. Sometimes there would be an historical succession of these caskets going back over a thousand years.

This has been forty years ago, so memory has faded some, but I remember the faces, hands and feet of these religious cadavers. I swear some could rival the picture you used for your poem.

Many of my pictures I draw myself, then save to a removable hard drive for use at a latter date, or when I need a particular pic for something. I have done book covers for author friends of mine who share the same proclivities for all things horror, as I do. Several are on Amazon.com still today. I just do it because I've always loved the melding of art and horror, and to help supplement my meager retirement benefits as well.

Thanks, doc, and I believe I drew this one myself. I often do a lot of my own artwork, then save them for use at a later time.

Oh, I don't know, Jerry. I often write about the things that scare me the most, and I've always found nuns to be a bit creepy in general.

I think some like my wife can relate to this. She went to catholic school from kindergarten until her freshman year, when they kicked her out. She told me the sisters always had it in for. One summer she spent all the time at the beach and her hair got sun bleached. When she went back to school they told her she broke the rules by dying her hair and they wouldn't listen to her explanation. So to please them she broke their own rules and dyed her hair.
