Your poem is a sunshiny delight, Brooke. Is Sawyer looking forward to school? I'm thinking he'll love this new chance for adventure and learning. I bet he'll be a sunbeam in the classroom.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Karyn, thank you so much :-) Well, his parents and I have all played it up, and he got his very first lunch box to take the first day, so right now he's excited. Who knows how he'll react when his mommy drives him there are then turns to leave the room without him. LOL He's gone to gym class and music class and art class and swim class before, but they were all ones where Mommy stayed. :-) She and I are both nervous wrecks :-) Brooke

A delightful poem to celebrate a charming smile. I do like the way this one develops, with the single spark of life detaching from the sun to animate Sawyer's smile. We all have that within us, but it doesn't always shine out quite so cheerfully. I've always rather liked that term of endearment, describing a child as 'my little ray of sunshine'. You have constructed a most appealing poem from it, taking it literally, as a child might do. Good luck to the little fellow as he starts the new adventure of school!

Wow! Already going to school... They do grow up way too fast. Why it was just yesterday you were telling us about his birth or was that the day before yesterday??

Very well written as always, Buck

Buck, thank you so much. It was 28 months ago - they send kids to school young nowadays. :-) Broke

He will have much to relate after being at school, how exciting for him. Lovely lines of verse in praise of our beautiful Earth and sun. Great way for kids to learn about our Universe. Lovely picture and most enjoyable as always. Faye

AWWWWWWWW! Cut that out! You know I can't resist 'saying' "aw" when your poem and picture are just too sweet, and it makes me look like I'm unable to articulate my feelings! (LOL) What a brilliant poem, Brooke - do I need to say it? SIXES!!!! MORE NEEDED!!! This is just wonderful imagery, my friend! I'm going to be seeing sunbeams now...:0)
***************************Brilliant! (pun intended!)

They can get away so quick. My Jacob started too. Both of these boys is about to show their grandparents a little something to remember. Well done Brooke. Blessings to all.

This is a great poem in a form I haven't tried before or knew about (abcb). It works very well for me and Sawyer looks full of beans in your photo! I like the message about sunbeams being both people (metaphor)and shining on us all (literal)! Great poem, Brooke. Best wishes, Pete :)
