This was by far the first poem that has touched my heart since I have one child of my own and a teenage boy I am raising like my son. They really do pay attention if you practice what you preach.

Wow! I really appreciate your encouraging comments. This is the first time I've ever written a 3 line poem; however, it really makes you get to the point quickly. Thanks for your vote of confidence.

So true! What a powerful message. I maybe would have considered adding a period at the very end. I also liked the artwork you chose. It coordinated with the message of the poem to make it even more powerful.

Thank you, Kate. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. It should have had a period at the end. I will correct it.

I always struggle with punctuation in my pieces. Sometimes it?s hard to decide if and when to use it in poetry.

Parenting is often difficult because we are human and feel rage and anger and often deliver our discipline with a degree of cruelty at times and your poem asks us to be mindful when teaching children to stay on the straight and narrow, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You are absolutely right, Dolly! I've seen so many broken children who come from broken parents. It is such an important, but sadly underrated message. Thanks for your introspective comments and kind review.
