Wow, this fits perfectly with how I feel about the recent weather here. I'm 'feeling' it 'with all my senses', and as well, enjoying this sublime poem's beauty. What a gorgeous presentation! Best of luck in the booth!

Thank you. I hope all is well with you, too.

I admired your use of the Even the Odds form to describe the shift from summer to autumn. Your picture selection and parallel color presentation, along with the use of alliteration are very effective. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

You certainly meet the challenge and yet in such an artistic manner as you weave a very flowing depiction of Summer's End. The picture compliments your very well chosen words.

Oh, Raffaelina -- thank you, THANK YOU!! I am so very glad you enjoyed my view of summer's end...I do so enjoy the warm weather (I'm weird that way-lol!), but I am also thrilled that Fall is in the air!! Thank you for those lovely stars and have a wonderful week ahead!!

Vivid, strong characterization of the seasons with "Summer's heat" and "Fall whispers". Descriptive portraits of the changes between the two times of year highlighted in this well crafted poem. "saltry samba" brings out the power of summer while "soothing soul" indicates the stifling hot days are soon to end. An enjoyable read.

This poem was a good entry for the "even the odds" prompt. I especially liked the phrase "sultry samba." The colors in the image and in the script highlight the meaning.

Hmmmmm, Mystery Writer!
You had me all the way until the very end. Not certain how "listen" and "soul" are synonymous, but I am old...and I dance a lousy samba! :)
Best wishes!

This is a beautiful tribute to the ending of summer. Perfectly written structure and an excellent entry for your even the odds contest. I love how you used the various font colors to show the motion of change. Great job! xoxo

I always am taken my this Ombre' presentation of hues! It sets this poem apart from any of the others I have read for this contest... I'm not sure "listen" and "soul" are necessarily synonyms, however--and as I read the instructions it seems that is a requirement. (?)--- That aside, form forgotten, I could dwell in t his ode to Autumn for quite awhile--no season speaks to me like it!--Karenina

And thus summer comes slowly to its end - we've had a couple weeks of wonderful warm weather - finally - it will be soon that freezing happens where we live - leaves already turning.
Nice poem

You've written a lovely image. We now live in AZ., so the end of Summer will be here in two more months. But I well recall the breezes and smells of Fall. The last two lines are all but perfect. Thank you for sharing your writing. Take care and go well.
