How fun! Thank you for this lesson on digestion! I like that word - peristalsis. Sounds so technical!
And I always knew the benefits of breathing through the nose. But what do you think about the mask wearing? In my experience, I don't have a problem with wearing a mask. But would there be more carbon dioxide intake due to mask wearing? All the medical workers have to wear masks all day long these days.

Thank you so much Helene for reviewing and your great comments. I am so glad you like peristalsis, lol. About the mask, surprisingly there is not more carbon dioxide intake due to the mask, the mask simply acts as a filter. Many days when I worked ICU I was required to wear a mask because of some outbreak on the floor/unit. Do take care, hugs n smiles!

Thank you so much for that information, Alie! These days some parents were concerned that masks would affect children's health. What you said makes so much sense! 💖💖

Writing as someone who has suffered from diverticulitis for the last twenty years, I compare myself to a a souped up performance car. I have a 'straight-through' exhaust system, never mind the meat products taking 72 hours to navigate the system. 72 minutes would on some occasions be considered good going. Lol.
Well you have to be able to laugh it off -- you'd cry else!

Oh how awful, You are definitely right, people with bowel problems are not regular and go through the 'normal' process. I agree that it is important to laugh it off rather than crying all the time. Thank you for reviewing.

Believe it or not, I read this while I was eating lunch! LOL It didn't bother me a bit. I didn't know that meat took 72 hours to break down in the body. It makes sense that fruit breaks down quickly, as its mostly water.

Thank you so much for reviewing Mel, yep some meat mostly the red meats take approximately 72 hours to break down, fish and chicken and pork are faster. I remember when we as nursing students were told that, the instructor also had a video projection and at least 3 people threw up, thankfully it was before lunch lol.

I bet they did! LOL

Interesting description of what happens to food we eat. I had no idea meat took up to three days to pass through. Simple sugars are first, which explains fruits, but fibrous fruits would take longer I expect.

Thank you so much for reviewing Phyllis, yep some meat mostly the red meats take approximately 72 hours to break down, fish and chicken and pork are faster. Usually all fruits are anywhere from 1-6 hours.
