This is another well written poem you have penned using your new Christmas present. I may need to get one if they help doing great poems like this one! You used very good and true wording. The world is in a mess thanks to politics and satan! That is just my opinion my friend! Great job! Blessings, Teri

Hi, Craig...

I read through this poem. The pace and rhymes were very easy, pleasing and well placed. A topic and theme which you excel at, in my opinion--observing some nonsense and calling it out with a slice of snark. In this poem, you take the tone of a narrator, and at the end, there is a hopeful upswing with an appeal for a better way.

ecstatic to have found their voice.
(Excellent choice words fitting together to set the tone, Humbug and pill, give that sense of nonsense and yet, there's an upbeatness about it, a false cheer that is sensed without so many words to lower to the level of outright calling crap, crap.

A flock of fedifragous fools
(love the alliteration and the Humbug and fools helps direct the sense of fedifragous, even if one doesn't know what the word might mean.)

and make damned sure that nothing sticks."
(That pretty much covers it exactly the way it seems to be, I liked the turn of phrase, adding the damned really makes the beat of each word stay on track, and continues with the cut)

"Throw in your hand, and come up Trumps."
(Gha, it's so very sad. Nice play on words using cards and such.)

Have faith in Jesus, buy a gun;
(This was sadly spot on. It's sad on so many levels, that leave people under the thumb of divide and conquer.)

is nothing but a bald-faced liar?
(what if???)

together, all can play the Ace.
(I like the walk through the room, looking at the downside, and the pointing at the room, the appeal for a better way.

My favorite set in rhyming and thought harmony was the faith, guns and bent knee, and the only set I paused on to think about for if I was reading the words with the intended emphasis was: close borders, and then lower tax.

Kept wanting to read it out loud as: close the borders, and lower tax.

So far this poem is my favorite of yours this year. : D

Nice job with this, I enjoyed, even as I was sad because the sting of it ringing true in places.

    Thank you so much for the wonderful and (no surprise) thoughtful review, Turtle. I quite liked this one myself - I'm not fond of all my children lol

    I've been away visiting family for a few days, so I have been struggling to keep up with reviewing, and this silly task I've set myself. I know I have an email there from you about your book, and I'll read that properly and respond soon.

    Many thanks again,
    Craig

Fedifragous is a beautifully theatrical word, and I shall find an opportunity to use it in conversation. You have some lovely alliteration here, , 'flock of fedifragous fools', 'Teflon tricks', 'changeling chumps' to name a few.

Excellent poetical commentary. Well done.

    Thanks for the kind words, Emma - much appreciated. I like the word, too. Some of them seem a bit frivolous, like the next one, but this is a keeper. Cheers, Craig

A very well-written poem. The political game seems to be changed forever. President Trump fulfilled more campaign promises in one year than all there before him in their full terms.

Excellent write on a most pertinent theme, the noisy minority that has mistaken fiction for facts. This has resulted in the weakest most corrupt, dishonest administration in history. But it makes for good copy and some even better poems. This is fine work friend, Craig. I even learned a new work, fedifragous that has a faithless flavour to it.

Terrific work in pristine rhythm and rhyme. :))

Bravo! The lyrical lilt of your poem was in the perfect voice. You captured the essence of the utter disconnect from humanity that is Donald Trump's vision of the future of America. Thank you.

Hi, Craig;
Thank you for sharing another new word out of your book. It seems to be a really useful Christmas present. I like the word, 'fedifragous,' because it includes the 'ragous' of outrageous. It is a shame that we've been lied to. And if only the people would claim their rights to have a government FOR the people BY the people.

Great job,

~patty~

This speaks about poker play and wins the race, an easy play the Ace; there is a relationship and event factor but winning is the attitude; I liked. DR ALCREATOR

I'm looking forward to learning a new word every day this year :) That sounds like a lot of fun to me. I enjoyed your rhythmic lines and aabb rhymes. My favorite rhyme was Messiah and liar. That made me snicker.
