The field takes on the characteristics of the sea, with colors that capture our attention and cause to think of distant spaces we only imagine.

A 'radiant red sea', I love that line and it is an appropriate write as it will soon be rememberance day, 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we shall never forget, love Dolly x

Another excellent haiku with very strong imagery
in juxtaposed poppies/breeze
Oh, those deceptive looking poppies
so attractive and alluring in the cool breeze
Nice use of alliteration and excellent picture to match
Very well done, my friend

Time & time again you keep demonstrating why you're known as "The Queen of Haiku" here at FanStory, MariVal.
This stunning haiku from your talented pen is certainly no exception.
Exceptional word economy coupled with a stunning presentation made this a most delightful read.

Are they blooming up there in Sacramento? This is
such a beautiful picture with this perfect haiku.
In eastern Washington I have seen such a field of
color. But not in California. Hope you are well. I
think about you often and send hope. -Bill

Exact word choice creates mood and imagery. I thought of poppies as symbols of war dead and also as a source for opium. The Red Sea has a religious connotation for the ancient Jews who crossed it to escape Egypt. For now, the sway of red poppies in a late summer breeze suffices as a meaning in and of itself.
Thank you for sharing.

Wow! Gypsy;
-what a fascinating and marvelous picture your chosen for this haiku as it is so superbly relative and supportive to your conceptual theme and your satori.
-The satori in this haiku definitely is an aha moment and expresses a definitive excitement that is spontaneous at the end of the haiku and very supportive to the conceptual theme.
-Their first two grammatically connected lines set up the understanding for the satori and are very demonstratively vivid and expressively descriptive.
-Thank you for sharing and take care and have a good one and may peace and harmony be with you always.
