This was very cute and well written! It's a really good children's story! I really liked how you told what kind of eggs each character painted! I really enjoyed reading it!

Not experienced at reading this type of story, I was thinking it seemed to lack anything memorable as an ending. But other than that, nicely written, with realistic dialogue and believable activities (for a bunch of talking animals). The best part is the tone of friendliness between everyone - very pleasant. Congrats on placing in the Story of the Month contest.

A delightful springtime story about all the children painting eggs while the adults all cooperate to make a wonderful day. I got a kick out of the girls painting pretty things and the boys painting monsters.

Lovely story, so many fun characters which were well-drawn. The dialogue was fun and lively and your story read well from start to finish. I enjoyed it immensely. Faye

A very cute and lovely story you've written there, Sandra:)
I enjoyed reading it.
Here are some suggestions to keep in mind:
1. The birds were getting their nests ready, making sure they (were) nice and cosy for their babies, high up on the tree-tops.
2. They were so busy (so) they didn't hear Millie the Mole and Vicky the Vole coming over to see them.
3. We saw all the birds making their nests, so we decided to make something too."
4. "Yes, of course you can," Reggie said proudly, "but keep your head down, you'll have to crawl in."
5. Vicky didn't mind at all helping her best friend
Best to rephrase it: Vicky didn't mind helping her best friend at all.
6. She also had some special plain white eggs with no speckles on at all!
7.She knew she couldn't be late today (because) Mummy Mouse would be waiting for her at the school gate.
Very lovely
Hugs

My dear Sandra,
How you transport me back over the decades to my Mummy's knew and Enid Blyton! As always, these are precious enchanting minutes I've had with your adorable critters.
Love to you, my wonderful friend. :)

I have been trying to think of why it is that your work is so appealing since I am not a child. (Hahaha! Insert joke here) When I was younger the compromise position when going to the movies was Disney. The kids loved it and the adults did too while pretending they went for the kids. That is what your work is like. It has all of the whimsy and fun for kids, but there is that smart and witty undertone that makes us want to read it for ourselves. That is why it is so excellent. Love this, mikey

What a lovely thing to say, Mikey. I think most of us retain that lovely link to childhood, so don't worry, you are not alone!! I am so happy that you enjoyed this story, thank you for your lovely review. :) xsx Sandra

Sandra, if my children's stories were 1/4 as good as yours I'd be a happy camper. You brought the Easter tradition of coloring eggs to life in your story defining each chatector's creation. But then, with Miss Freda the Frog complimenting each one was an important piece to your story.
Very well done, John
