What a hope filled devotion. I like how you make your point using your mission trip. I love this scripture. There is so much to cling to with the words. Great flow, easy to read and wonderful to think about. Great job.

Hi Judy,
This is another nice devotional piece. Very well written, and as always, well illustrated. I like the way you drive home the point with minimal words. Well done.

What kind of response are you getting on the website with these? It looks like they're definitely improving. This is one of my favorites. The walking in darkness and finding God is very well done.

anabelle

Judith Marie, I truly do admire the way you fit in an anecdote, so smoothly segued to a biblical passage and devotional message, all in so few words - if you ever decided to write flash fiction, I think you'd be an instant hit.
I could picture you on that treacherous path from your vivid descriptions, and after you draw me into that feeling of danger and darkness, you shine the light :-) Brooke

Thank you for the encouragment, Brooke. I am amazed how well these devotional pieces are received (by most anyway). You are right, they are a form of flash fiction too and usually I write them quickly after praying about the scripture I have been given. Your words have given me what I need to write more. Thanks so much for the generous review. -Judy

Lovely, inspirational, simple, humble and rich in devotional charm!
Spag free--hurray! Except I do have to suggestions regarding optional commas-
on those living in the land of the shadow of death(,) a light has dawned.
Once I began walking with the light of Jesus to guide me(,) I could never imagine moving forward any other way.
God Bless.
Lots of Love,

Thanks for this wonderful review. Again, thank you for the comma lesson. I must find myself a book on those troublesome little things, as they do help the reading of any piece. -Judy

Nicely put. Inspirational dialog. Analogy was prevalent. Its amazing how many people that are walking around in the dark don't know that its dark and therefore don't realize they need a light switch. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent work here! Thank you for sharing it with us. Splendid word choice, you painted a picture for me. I was right there, then you shifted to take us to your point. And it was well taken.
Hope you will stop by a new post I put up a little bit ago. I've been away from FS for awhile, working on my middle grade adventure. The new post features one of the characters from the book. Perhaps you'll enjoy it! Hope you will stop by and comment. I'd appreciate the feedback, if you have time.
Keep writing!

Judy, your words paint real images with emotion. I walked with caution along with you on the unfamiliar path in total darkness...a great way to bring the reader into the message you are presenting.
Last sentence: image - I think you mean imagine. Doesn't distract from a beautiful devotional.
The last paragraph of personal testimony ending with hope is perfect. Very inspirational and clear message. Definitely written from the heart! JudithMarie
