immigrants seeking
safe haven among strangers --
greener on that side
You give a glimpse into the despair that can motivate immigrants. They hope to find a new home, but cannot imagine how they will succeed.

Hi Marival,I liked your 5-7-5 for the renga. Yes, it happens all the time, the refugitives landing on our coasts. Many lose their lives in the process. Great but a sad continuation. Ulla:)))

This is a very nice chapter for your book. I like the way you have used the colour green to follow on from the red, and kept the water theme. I also find it interesting that we are moving towards lager bodies of water now as the chapters go on.

Yes Gypsy, the other side always looks better. However, the opposite can also be true. The grass on the other side of the street looks so green, but when I get close, it is the same green crabgrass (-; Tragic the immigrant stories about these boat people.
You selected a good image to express your verse.

Great assessment about the dilemma of the refugees and immigrants in your brief poem. So much is lost while leaving their home culture but they are willing to risk everything because they hope for better for their kids in the new country.

A struggle for freedom, I live in San Diego and we have a lot of immigrants coming from Mexico and further south. Those of us that were born free are truly blessed.

Thank you very much, my friend. I came to the USA at 16 years old. My aunt brought me on a visa and eventually I got my citizenship. I'm proud to be an American and free. Spain, where I grew up, had a dictatorship with fascist president Francisco Franco. It was not as bad as siria or guatemala, etc.. but it was bad.
Thank you very much for your review and kind words.
Hugs,
Gypsy
