Hi! If I don't purchase a base certificate for my pieces of work, will anyone see them, or do I HAVE to buy a base certificate for people to even view/review them?

if you don't promote your work with a certificate, you get a limited number of reviews. I think that is two reviews, and then your posting will stay in your portfolio instead of being available for further reviewing. No one will see it. Therefore, it's a good idea to buy a certificate, review the work of others in order to win fanstory money to purchase member cent pumps with which to promote your work. To help you become familiar with the site and the way things work here, I suggest you pull down on the headings at the top of your screen until you find QA. Pull down that subheading, and you will find the information you seek.

I have noticed that after building a peer relationship with other people here that even after your two reviews are used, people will occasionally go through your portfolio and they can see everything there, and they will review occasionally. I have definitely gotten reviews on old work before, but it is definitely a time thing.
Also kindness pays. Some times people will review and old work of yours if you make a habit of reviewing old work of theirs. Not everyone does this, but it definitely makes people more likely to want to read your work and give you that time.

The problem with old works is that they pay the reviewer only two cents, so for someone to go to your portfolio and review at that rate is very rare, but yes, some people will.

Well except for in the year 2019 when Tom introduced the Poem of the Year award and I received a record 14 reviews at 2 cents that definitely lowered my ranking. Can you imagine that happening accidentally? If so, it is reasonable to suggest that your writes will receive an additional 14 reviews at the default setting of 2 cents and 1 reviewer point over the course of a year.
