RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
And that is a classic example of straw man. I did not make any such statement. That's two strikes, Harambe. What happens on three?

RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
Time Magazine labeled Adolph Hitler Man of the Year in 1938, so it's fitting they should give the Musk worm the same accolade.
This is the ad hominem logic I just described on display. Explain how the latter follows from the former.

RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
Well, well, I get to disagree with all four people on this thread - that is if I can remember what you all said!

For a start, lets examine the person cheering for a social media site that will allow people to speak the truth. Isn't Truth the actual name of Trump's site? So does that mean it doesn't allow people to speak the truth or just that it's so mucked up it will never get off the ground.

Then there's all the nonsense about Time Person of the Year (Man of the Year until 1999) That annual award has never been about choosing a 'hero'. The actual wording is something like 'a person, a group, an idea, or an object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year"'

Emma, I think you underestimate Musk. It is known that he is a hands-on entrepreneur and an outspoken advocate for free speech. It is unclear just what he will do to balance that with media regulation, but he will certainly be in control of the direction of the company.

Trump and Musk friends? Nah, Trump has no friends. Anyone close to him is constantly in fear of the stab in the back.

And 'classic ad hominem'. Nope! Ad hominem is when you attack the person you are arguing with, rather than their position.

RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
There is no such thing as ad hominem logic. I mentioned two people by name. I didn't say anything about either except that Time had seen fit to nominate both for Man of the Year. So, I will repeat directly what I implied, they must have some common attributes Time finds appealing. NOT an ad-hominem attack.

What is clear here is that you will let no opportunity pass to defend your right-wing heroes, despite your weak denials of bias.

If you're going to fritter away your time chasing me around the forum attempting to score points, you really need to lift your game.

RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
CD Expressing a personal opinion about a public figure is the right of every individual. I know you wrote it...but you don't believe it...
you belittle everyone...and anyone...for any reason thought of...
even if not true...

and Musk is going to have a lot more to say about Twitter than you think...
he has already made it clear...there will be no censoring of anyone...even
those who have criticized him...everyone will have freedom of speech...

and it wasn't Musk who banded your mate...he thinks it's wrong...Twitter
has kicked off thousands and thousands...and a whole lot more people for trying to tell the truth...one of the things Musk disapproved of...

I think you'll see a big change...I believe 44 billion dollars will allow him to manage more than you think...he wasn't on the board before...well he is now...

RE: Elon Musk-Freedom of Speech
And Steve, since you lumped in my reference to Time, I'll just point out the ONLY thing I said, which is factually correct, is that they nominated both men, and therefore their must be some common ground. I implied the obvious by stating that Trump and Musk are both Reconciled's heroes, I never said they were Time's.

Raven, I didn't say Musk won't have a big influence on Twitter. That was Emma, and I happen to disagree with her on that point.

As for the rest of your post, not even worth answering.

Raven, do try to keep track of what you say and to whom:

"and Musk is going to have a lot more to say about Twitter than you think.."

That was after you directly addressed me by name. If you are changing the person you are addressing, you need to say so, as none of us are clairvoyants here.

it was written for Emma...grow up and use your head..
you know it wasn't for you...you read what she wrote...
stop trying to make trouble...it's what you do...
