Trials test me.

Rain Reminds Me

by Tina Crute

As raindrops from heaven are falling,
tap-tapping a dance on my roof,
I think of the storm that comes calling,
as a trial that's meant for my proof.

As preludes to winds are now whirling,
my heart starts a woeful tune,
for soon deadened leaves will be twirling,
beneath the blue of the moon.

As gold in fire is made pure,
refined by the source of the heat,
as clay needs a fire to cure,
my heart has a trial to beat.

As things come to slander my faith,
my eyes on earth will grow dim.
I see God's purpose of grace,
and my own, to glorify Him.

As storms in life are dreaded,
mostly for trouble they bring,
they leave me wisdom-embedded,
so a better tune now I sing.

As rain makes things grow as they should
that started as just a seed,
I know storms are meant for my good,
God's chosen the ones that I need.

As future tests come I will know,
God will not leave me afraid.
He  sends me the rainbow's glow,
to remind me of promises mad
e.

See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
