A love poem to Black Women

The Black Woman

by Cassidy Husted

The Black Woman,
Who's hair defies gravity,
Intelligent and beautiful,
She is Divinity

The Black Woman
They try to erase you from history,
To silence you,
They try to keep you a mystery,
But you Resist and Fight,

The Black Woman,
You are unforgettable,
Irreplaceable,
Hold up your fist, We won't stand back,

The Black Woman,
We welt with agony,
Why do the uniformed tear you away?
The tears,
The marching in the streets, yelling and demanding,
"Not another more!"

The Black Woman,
I would move mountains for you,
To never see your face on the evening news,
For you deserve the World, the stars
And the Moon.

The Black Woman,
I wrap my arms around you,
To shield you from hate,
It is our time now to protect you.

I wish to send every Black woman my love. With recent events this has been brewing in my mind for awhile.
Black Woman, you are so loved and important.
I stand with you and will do everything to help make this world more safe for you.
Sincerely,
A white ally.
