A poem about hope in a Covid 19 world.

Covid is coming

by eliz100

Covid is coming
Covid is coming

We need more vents
And ICU beds
Protective gear
for MD's and RN's

Tests are needed
Where are they
Oops not here
I wonder where

From China to Europe
To the US of A
West coast to east
Numbers explode

Covid is here
Covid is here

Businesses close
Economy tanks
Masks required
And six feet apart

As September arrives
To school or at home
Education happens
Despite covid 19

Next year in sight
Numbers stabilize
We wear our masks
Keep six feet apart

Vaccines are coming
Treatment improves
Businesses open
People support

We lived through
the 1918 flu
We conquered polio
And we will this too

Covid is here
Covid is here
Have Faith
My dear

Write any type of poem to stir hope.

Please accept this in the style it is written. I know that many families were affected by the virus. And the saddest thing for me as a nurse was that people died alone. Nurses used technology and connected families, I know it was not the same.
