Childlike Faith

by Sally Law

A faith was birthed in me long ago,
although I didn't perceive it.
God, to me, a living one,
who viewed both great and small.

He saw me, the littlest girl,
a sapling of the faith;
and led me by the Angel's hands,
to the place of saving grace.

I saw the earth, the sky, and moon,
and all that God had made.
I had no questions then, except for one,
"why do you love me so?"

My eyes have dimmed with passing days,
but not my faith of old.
Now, my Father asks of me,
"why do you love me so?"
