Penny's Window to The World

by Boogienights

Penny Penelope Applebee
stared hard to see what she could see,
through a new telescope, dad had brought home.
He said, "To see new sights we  won't have to roam."
"From home, we'll see new  things every day,
like the ships on the sea that pass by our way."

Penny Penelope Applebee
was watching a sailboat out on the sea.
Its sails were red, yellow, and green,
the prettiest sails that she'd ever seen.
There were other boats too, they were having a race.
They all moved along at a very quick pace.
In the race, she had a friend entered in,
Penny was sure that her friend would win.

Penny Penelope Applebee
looked through the telescope and could see,
different birds up in trees far away,
building their nests for the eggs they would lay.
It almost felt like she was right there,
up in the trees, as they flew through the air.
She thought that being a bird would be fun,
but still, when all was said and done,
she liked being Penny Penelope Applebee,
living with her mom and dad by the sea.

Penny Penelope Applebee
was having fun on the beach by the sea.
Dad taught her how to cast out a line,
to catch a big fish, would suit Penny fine.
Mom brought a lunch that they all ate together,
under blue sunny skies, the very best weather.
They decided to stay 'till the stars shone above,
watching the sunset was what Penny loved.

Penny Penelope Applebee
laid on the sand with her dad by the sea.
They were stargazing, a blanket of light,
lit up the beach, and the water at night.
Penny wondered if someone like she
was gazing back at them from a far galaxy.
She thought that one day she might visit mars,
and navigate a big rocket ship through the stars.
