My Pet Goldfish

Fishy face
Kissy face

I stepped up on the ladder to find the fish food
To feed the school of goldfish
With a whole bunch of heavy-handed sprinkles;
I couldn't get down quick enough to watch them.

Fishy face
Kissy face

The flakes expanded in the filtered tank water
And I smushed my face on the glass to get the closest look
Fish fins flapped their bodies up high
Fish lips gobbled the food flakes up in a frenzy

Day 29, Writing prompt - Write a poem praising a pet.

Notes: We (as in my family) had a number of pets when I was little, little. I actually have a lot of memories looking at the fish. We had about 5 goldfish in the aquarium.
