Pandemic Blues

by nomi338

There is a new pandemic, and I am clearly in a panic
My actions may seem eccentric, it is not Monday, but I am manic

You must maintain a distance, of at least six feet they say
If you let go of your resistance, you might live another day

Inside you must wear a mask, is this practice really wise?
A question I dare not ask, Is this truth or just more lies

Looking like a frightened bandit, hope I do not get shot
Trying to understand it, avoiding people who cough a lot

Wash your hands often, to keep away the germs
Your skin may or may not soften, under these drastic terms

Gloves may help to turn the tide, in keeping your hands clean
Your hands remain snugly inside, away from germs unseen
