Unrequited Love

by Puzzle

“I love you,” he said as he looked fiercely into my eyes.  The devil was standing at my doorstep again.  It felt like the blood was rushing out of my body while he clawed through my emotions.
He had passion in his eyes that made my soul scream.  I yearned to play with fire because heat aroused me.  But I knew, I had to let him go.
“I can’t Damien, you have to leave now!”
“If I leave, it’s over for good, but just know, you are my soulmate”.
The thought of us being soulmates sent a chill down my spine.
My best friend's husband left that day and took my heart with him.

100 Word Story writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a story that is between 100 and 150 words. The trick is you must use the following words: fire, devil, scream, heart, love.

This is a FICTIONAL story!!! Also, I want to give credit to the late Mac Miller who inspired the line, the devils at my doorstep. It is a metaphor. I love it so I incorporated it into this story.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
