Distractions

by Sugarray77

Distraction is my enemy;
it's in my face and bothers me.
I cannot turn from right to left;
deep concentration is bereft.

Whichever way I turn, it's there;
it's like a bird's nest in my hair.
I cannot seem to rid my mind
of raucous thoughts, the frenzied kind.

I turn to poetry to rest,
I choose to read the very best.
Wise, varied words of scribe and sage
remind me trouble's in each age.

I know my world will settle down,
and I will reach a higher ground;
this turbulence will melt away,
and normalcy will win the day.

It seems like everyones world has tipped on edge. I know that our normalcy here is being reshaped and shifted... both hubby and our son (who has moved back in during CV) now work from home and have set up their camps in different parts of the house. I am NOT used to this... and they expect to eat three times a day too (guess who is in charge of that?)... LOL. Being a stay at home mom all these years makes me the chief Indian around here... I am sooo distracted!!! Ha! I hope to begin writing more soon!
