Old Dirt Road

by amada

My old road still shines like a shrine
in the midst of a rocky dirt path.

Here lies the old dirt that teased my feet
with its hundred hide-and-seeks--
the crunch of leaves played a symphony,
a triumphant chorus to sun and breath.

Today, in the recess of those old roots
I encounter hills and valleys
trying to erupt, fresh, from the same old soil,

a testament to life, and the renewal of the spirit,

under the blessing of an infinite life force.
