70 Word Flash Fiction Contest Entry
The Hostage
by DragonSkulls
My team rapelled from the helicopter in moonlight. We had
intel that our political hostage was on the second floor of a
building being heavily guarded by terrorists. We silently gained
access and eliminated the first floor threats. Using a flashbang
grenade we then took out the enemies on the second floor.
I grabbed the hostage and shouted, "Let's move!"
"We can't."
"Why on earth not?"
"Because that's seventy words."
