Getting old

by Willie P. Smith

Getting old is hard,
My friend.
The years are not golden
As some pretend

Changes take place
Day after day.
Soon you don't look
The same way.

My eyes are weak,
My hearing is bad.
I've got wrinkles,
I never had.

I don't know what happened,
To my skin.
It's saggy and wrinkled
Like the tide when it's in.

I've tried skin lotion,
It don't hide what I've got,
Looks like my body
Is covered with snot.

It's hard to believe
The shape i'm in.
Wish I could
Just buy some new skin.
