Journeys

by Sugarray77

Tremendous tales of derring do,
of knights of old and pirates too,
enrapture children as they read,
enriching them as they proceed.

They'll clamber over hill and dale,
ride out the storms and hunt for whale.
They'll rub a magic genie's lamp,
find Chocolatiers with golden stamps.

Inside the Hundred Acre Wood,
they'll find that sugarplums taste good,
and underneath white fairy dust,
they'll face a Hook, find wanderlust.

When Alice wonders what she's found,
and fables tell of Fox and Hound,
if Dr. Seuss says fish are blue,
now, what's a child supposed to do?

Whatever stories that they're in
sweet nurs'ry rhymes or Old Huck Finn,
each story leads their searching minds
on journeys ~ the most wondrous kind.
